Dust offf those old race cars! Break out the welders and cage those rat-rods! For the first time ever the ChumpCar World Series is coming to the East Coast of Canada at Atlantic Motorsport Park for “Maritime Mayhem at AMP”!
ChumpCar is North America’s home for REAL, AFFORDABLE, COMPETITIVE road racing. We’re talking real racing, real tracks and real cheap cars! We’re talking endurance races that range from 7-hours to 37-hours long! We’re talking fast and intense, class-based sprint races of 40 minutes!
So, why do we do this and who is this series for?
ChumpCar was developed for gear-heads; for people who love driving and driving fast. It’s not about gimmicks or theatrics. It’s not about spending buckets of money, either. Rather, it’s for Chumps like you that have always wanted to go road racing without all the hassles or huge rule books or obscene expense. It’s about ‘Joe Average’ and almost-race-ready cars.
ChumpCar is a throw-back to the era when racing was fun and cheap… when Bondo beat carbon-fiber; when a crescent wrench was the most valuable tool in your box; when home-made engineering made everyone sit up and take notice; and when adding a little theme to your car didn’t get you laughed off of pit lane.
Those were good times… and they’re back.
The ChumpCar event will take place August 12-14th consisting of Friday Sprints and 7 hour endurance races on Saturday and Sunday! Costs, prep rules and full details are available on the ChumpCar Website! A discussion message with details, questions, bragging and boasting has also already begun on the Atlantic Region Motor Sports forum!
ChumpCar is a great opportunity for experienced racers, new racers and everyone in between to come out for some cost-effective fun racing! Start your plans now and see you at the track!
To go along with the new back stretch safety improvements we’ve also made some improvements to signage!
First the classic 70’s AMP sign hanging over the Hilchie Building has been restored:
Also the brand new signage over the Start Finish bridge showing AMPs primary competition organizations:
Be sure to come out and see them at this weekend’s season ending Mack and Jack (Bikes) on Saturday and Jack Canfield Memorial (Sedan) races on Sunday!!
With the help of a dedicated group of volunteers from sARL and donations from ARMS, improvements are being made this week to the back stretch between Turns 8 and 9b. New barriers are now in place improving safety for those on both two and four wheels!
Welcome to the new Atlantic Motorsport Park website! A redesign has been a long time coming and we’re happy to finally be able to provide an all new source of up to date information about AMP and the events taking place at the track! Keep an eye on the Events Schedule for the latest info!
This website is still heavily under construction and new sections and information are being added all the time! Check back often! If you have any feedback or suggestions for content please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org! Thanks and see you trackside!
